Execution of fellow believer shocks Baha'is
By Our Correspondent
Bhubaneswar: The Baha'i community of Orissa has expressed shock and grief over the execution of a fellow believer, Mr Ruhu'llah Rawhani, by the Iranian government recently. The 52-year-old man was arrested for propagandising Baha'i faith to a woman. However, the woman has denied that she had converted. She said her mother was a Baha'i and she had been brought up as a follower of that faith. It is alleged that no sentence was passed on Mr Rawani and he was executed without following any legal proceedings. Mr Upendra Singh, executive secretary of the Baha'i Council of Orissa, expressed deep concern for the welfare of another 15 Baha'is, who are imprisoned in Iran.
