Azhari too!

We had heard the rumours before about the connection of Amir Abbas Hoveyda and his cabinet’s agriculture minister, Mansour Rohani, to the Baha’i sect. However, in an article about Iran in the March issue of Middle East Magazine this rumour was somewhat confirmed.

According to this monthly magazine, in addition to Amir Abbas Hoveyda, General Gholamreza Azhari, the prime minister of the military government during the era of oppression, is also connected to this sect.  It is interesting that in his speeches in parliament, Azhari always said, “God, we put our hopes on you,” and swore by the pure souls of the Imams; this is all recorded!

The other rumour is that the famous national security official, Parviz Sabeti, is Azhari’s son-in-law.  Kabootar ba kabootar, baz ba baz [idiom: birds of a flock fly together].
