Reza Firouzi was born into a Muslim family. He became a Baha’i in 1935 and shortly thereafter moved to Tabriz. He returned to Ahar in 1942 and became a member of the Local Spiritual Assembly for many years.
On 19 July 1980 his son, Parviz Firouzi, was arrested at a Local Spiritual Assembly meeting in Tabriz. Reza Firouzi travelled to Tabriz every fortnight to visit his son in prison. Then on 20 September 1980, he too was arrested. He was imprisoned in Ahar for a few days and transferred to Tabriz prison on 24 September 1980. He was executed by firing squad on 9 November 1980.
