Ministry of the Interior,

Further to letter number 15354/5307 of 2 Esfand 1322 [22 February 1944], a copy of report number 1943 of 11 Esfand 1322 [2 March 1944] sent by telegram from the Police Force of Shiraz, is hereby conveyed as follows:

“According to the report of the Police Force in Jahrom, Morteza Abbasian has [lodged a complaint and] sought justice for the door to his property having been set on fire during the night. It has been discovered that his home is being used as the “Baha’is guesthouse”; therefore, this incident took place as a result of religious animosity. In addition, according to the Police Force in Abadeh, in Eghlid and its environs, which are 15 km from Abadeh, a severe dispute has erupted between Muslims and Baha’is. Accordingly, orders have been issued to the relevant police station to take action as necessary. The matter has also been brought to the attention of Governor General and the Gendarmerie. We should also add that if this matter is not confronted forcefully, it will spread to other areas and cause great tension”.

Orders have been given to the Police to take whatever action is necessary to stop any further agitation and disorder.

Head of the National Police Force Headquarters,

Brigadier General Jahanbani
