Once one of the foreign radio [stations] had invited one of these small groups, [discussing], for example, that women should not observe hijab [wearing Islamic veil] or men should wear tie. It had chosen a subject that was the source of opposition to government, where it also had a political as well as a dissolute character. We know that, in our country, not everybody agrees with hijab. A number of people who do not believe in hijab altogether are not Muslims. There are Armenians, all kind of Christian sects; there are Jews, there are Zoroastrians, there are Baha’is who are not official [legalised], there are naturalists [atheists] who even do not even believe in God and do not have faith in anything…
