Office of the Prime Minister

Date: 16 Farvardin 1329 [5 April 1950]

Number 4/2263

Ministry of the Interior,

In reference to letter number 11995/M/17164/N of 2 Esfand 1328 [21 February 1950] about the murder of Dr. Berjis and the protest and actions taken by some entities, I would like to convey that the letters received by government departments on behalf of the Baha’i Assemblies are, by no means, considered official and must not be responded to.  The protests and provocations of these types of entities in the centre [Tehran] or [other] cities should be seriously prohibited and the offenders must be legally prosecuted.  In this regard, the necessary instructions must be issued to the relevant governors general and the governors.

The Prime Minister

A copy of this letter and the letter of the Ministry of the Interior will be sent to the Ministry of Justice and the National Police Force Headquarters for sharing information and taking the appropriate action.
