Dr. Habibi
Esteemed Vice President
Greetings
The report number M/79-2237, dated 6 Shahrivar 1379 [27 August 2000], issued by the Committee for Investigation and Overseeing the Enforcement of the Constitution, and its attachment regarding the requests by the unofficial religious minorities (copy attached), were presented to the esteemed president, to which he replied:
“Dr. Habibi
First, whatever is related to the government must be acted on expeditiously, according to legal standards. Second, if you see fit, we can refer the main issue to the heads of the three branches of government and hold a discussion there with the participation of some legal scholars (such as Mr. Mehrpour and the legal assistant to the president). What is your opinion? In any case, this is an important issue that, God-willing, must be resolved.”
Seyyed Mohammad-Ali Abtahi
