The Telegram of His Imperial Majesty to Ayatollah Behbahani

His Honour Hojjatol-Islam Haji Mirza Mohammad Behbahani, may His mercy be continuous

Your Honour’s telegram, containing the sincere salutation and prayers, was received and observed. It caused satisfaction and gratitude. As you have heard us [say] many times, we have obligated ourselves to implement the Islamic rules and supplicate God Almighty for the continuity of this success.           17 Ordibehesht 1334 [8 May 1955] – The King

Ayatollah Behbahani’s telegram to His Excellency, the Imperial Majesty

By offering sincere prayers at this time that His Imperial Majesty has taken this God-pleasing action, and, according to the years-long wishes of this praying one [Mr. Behbahani] and the whole nation of Islam, has ordered the closure of the centre of national and religious sedition and has issued an order to confiscate that inauspicious [property] by the Islamic army, I would like to express my sincere gratitude. Since this occasion, in the view of this praying one, is considered as a religious festival, I congratulate His Excellency and I am assured that the blessed heart of His Holiness the Lord of the Age, may our souls be a sacrifice for Him, will be happy and will pay special attention at this time to His Royal Highness.

Finally, I beg for the blessing of the Almighty God and success for His Royal Majesty’s increased confirmation and success in the preservation of the holy religion and the sacred laws of Islam, and the suppression of any opposition to the religion of God, the Most High.

Mohammad-al Mousavi Al-Behbahani, may God forgive him
