9 Baha’is were arrested

We have been informed that, in addition to abuse and torture of the Baha’is [by government] to obtain their public statements, confessing that they would recant and repent in exchange for not being killed, nine members of the National Assembly have also been arrested.

Among these nine, so far, the name of Taslimi, who seems to be the cousin of Doctor Taslimi, has been announced, as well as that of General [Ataollah] Mogharrabi. Three other members of the Baha’i International Assembly [members of the Board of Counsellors], who had gone to Iran to deal with the affairs of their fellow Baha’is, were also arrested and imprisoned.

Pardis - We strongly protest the strategy of the Baha’i people. They have sat down quietly and watched the killing of the people of Iran, including their fellow believers, and because they do not “interfere in politics,” they do not show any activity against Khomeini’s hellish regime. Whether you interfere in politics or not, this Khomeini hangman will not have mercy on anyone, no matter whether he is a Baha’i, a Muslim, a Jew or a Christian.

The meaningless phrase, “We do not interfere in politics” cannot exempt you as a human being and as an Iranian [from discharging] your responsibility and openly protesting.
