Khorramshahr: Issuing a sentence for Mrs. Noushin Ghanavatian

Latest news from Iran:

Mrs. Noushin Ghanavatian, from Khorramshahr, Khuzestan, was sentenced to eight years in prison in a trial held on 19 Aban 1388 (10 November 2009). The sentence was reduced to five years due to Mrs. Ghanavatian’s lack of criminal record. She is accused of holding Nineteen Day Feasts and studying the messages of the Universal House of Justice. Mrs. and Mr. Ghanavatian were detained for several hours on 8 Mordad 1387 (29 July 2008), following a search of their home, and were released on bail.
