Ministry of the Interior

Governorate General of the Northern [Province]

[Date:] 22/5/1323 [13 August 1944]

[Number:] 11/M

Confidential, Eyes only

His Honour Prime Minister,

Following the telegraphic order number 8756, dated 19/5/1323 [10 August 1944], regarding the prevention of open promotion and propagation of religions, we hereby convey that the instructions of circular number 744, of 13/4/1323 [4 August 1944], had been communicated to this Office of the Provincial Governor General by the Ministry of the Interior. In order to prevent misunderstanding in the jurisdiction, the directions were communicated to the dependent governorates to inform the Office of the Provincial Governor General of the conditions of their own jurisdiction of responsibility, so that, where it is needed, we would act accordingly. Given that the state of affairs of this province is, so far, normal, and there have not been any reports to be concerned about, in order to prevent any confusion, it was enough to inform the contingent governorates of the contents of the telegraphic orders. Their publication throughout the districts and villages was disallowed, to avoid any misconception which may lead to insurgency.

Governor General of the Second Province,

Ebrahim Shayan [signature, on behalf]
