Nematollah Katibpour-Shahidi

Executed by firing squad in Kashmar on 26 July 1981


Nematollah Katibpour-Shahidi entered the workforce at the age of 12 and held various jobs in the province of Khorasan until his retirement as an employee of the Bank-e-Melli in Mashhad.  He served as a representative of the Umana Company until its confiscation by the authorities during the Islamic Revolution.  He was a member of the Local Spiritual Assembly[1] of Mashhad.

He was arrested at 8 am, on 4 July 1981, at his home.  He was imprisoned at Kashmar prison.  Then on 26 July 1981, less than a month after his arrest, he was executed by firing squad together with  Kamaloddin Bakhtavar.  Their bodies were laid to rest by their families at the Bahá’í cemetery in Nayshapour, Khorasan.
