About the Television
Dear Manager of Neday-e Hagh Newspaper
An article was published on the front page of the 22 Bahman 1337 [11 February 1959] issue of that unique newspaper about the boycott of television by Qom Islamic authorities. Since this news might cast doubt in minds and be misused by prejudiced people, I deem it necessary to remind you that if this news is true, it is not because of television itself having any problem, since TV is one of great inventions of humanity; rather, it is because, firstly, it is established and managed by a non-Islamic group, and secondly, because its programmes are not regulated or implemented in a correct and useful manner.
There is no doubt that the orthodox religion of Islam welcomes the progress of science and has commended it.
