… the issue that I emphasize is the mismanagement by Mr. Moinfar at the Oil Company. The Oil Company has become a base for the anti-revolutionaries, and all of them are America’s direct or indirect elements (under the filthy banner of Bahaism as an anti-revolutionary political organization). If anything is said, they strike back by citing the specialization issue. We are not in need of specialization to the degree that anti-revolutionary individuals [should] head our largest essential organization—even to the point where they take over the responsibility of the [staff] cleansing. About five or six months ago, our brothers were informed that an assembly of the Baha’is had been formed. When they went there with the implementing officers, they observed that most of the heads of the Oil Company were gathered at that assembly. The minutes found there showed that Hoveyda, that doomed traitor of the century and backbone of America’s imperialism, had officially been praised, and the doomed and overthrown criminal king was greatly glorified as the great redeemer of Bahaism. And finally, the regime of the Islamic Republic and the person of the supreme leader were described by the most obscene expressions. This circular was then sent to all the assemblies of Bahaism as guidelines…

According to [parliament’s] voting process, from a total of 195 votes, the credentials of Mr. Ali Akbar Moinfar were approved by 153 votes in favour, 25 votes [opposed] and 17 votes of abstention.
