Martha Kaviani, the seven-year-old child of Vargha Kaviani, who is one of the fourteen Baha’i residents of Shiraz who were arrested, wrote a letter to the Prosecutor in his own handwriting in which he has said that his father is innocent. Martha has asked for the release of his father and other Baha’i prisoners.
Martha Kaviani wrote the following in the letter:
“With greetings to the esteemed Prosecutor, my father Vargha Kaviani has not done anything bad and has not committed any violation [of the law].
My father, Vargha Kaviani, was at his friends’ home and you arrested him and took him to jail. Please leave my father and the other innocent people alone and take them out [of the prison]. Incidentally, you are the one who is doing something wrong. Please release my father and the others. We thank you.
