21 Aban 1358 [12 November 1979]
The Honourable Public Prosecutor of Tehran
Respectfully, I would like to bring to your attention that I am Malekeh Afagh Iranpour (Davoudi). My husband, Dr. Alimorad Davoudi, with birth certificate number 2, issued in Khalkhal, born on 1301 [1992/1993], resident of Tehran [address], is a retired professor of the Chair of Philosophy at the College of Literature of the University of Tehran, and the father of my five children. On 20 Aban 1358 [11 November 1979] at 11:00 a.m., while wearing a black leather jacket and sport shirt, he went for a walk towards the Laleh Park (previously Farah) and has not returned home, up to this time, which is 21 Aban 1358 [12 November 1979]. With great concern, the situation was brought to the attention of Police Station number 8 and the Committee of Amirabad. Because it was thought that he may have been involved in an accident, the Office of Forensic Medicine and hospitals around this area were contacted, but there was no result.
It is necessary to explain that Dr. Alimorad Davoudi is one of the famous scholars and writers of the country and has written and composed several books and publications. He has been, for years and also at present, a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Iran. Based on his religious beliefs, he has never had any involvement with politics, and was not and is not a member of any political parties. As his writings only had spiritual and religious aspects, I strongly suspect that the radical and extremist religious groups, including the publishers of the fake and biased magazine of Ahrar—and I have no knowledge of the identities of its founders and writers—have kidnapped this great scholar in order to achieve their evil intentions, as the fanatically religious individuals have threatened to do a few times by phone calls, causing trouble.
In Issue number 2 of the Ahrar publication, which is published by the fake “Central Committee of Movement for Freedom of the Baha’is of Iran (jaba)”, Dr. Alimorad Davoudi was attacked. The Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Iran had reported the matter to the responsible national authorities, and also informed the Baha’is in writing, that this fake publication has no affiliation with the Baha’i community of Iran. As a proof of my statements, I am enclosing Issue No. 2 of this deceptive publication, which contains false writings.
