The Insidious Movements of the Baha’i Sect in the National Smart Card System
The most important task of the national [smart] card is to identify individuals. At the time of registration, cardholder information such as name, surname, date, place of birth and religion must be explicitly entered in the system. In this way, wherever the cardholder’s identity information is needed, he can present his card, and by facilitating identification, the actions of fraudsters and known individuals are prevented.
Today, the perverse Baha’i sect, the nature of which is espionage and sabotage against the Islamic Republic of Iran, has asked its misguided followers to refrain from expressing their religion in the National Card Registration System and to leave this option blank or use other options.
Recently, the representative of the people of Khomeyni Shahr in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mr. Seyyed Mohammad-Javad Abtahi, raised objections to the smart card registration system and announced in writing to the minister of interior his request to remove and review the “other” option in the religion column.
By choosing the option of “other”, it is a kind of excuse to recognize the perverse Baha’i sect, which is not permissible in any way in terms of legal structure.
According to the Law on Civil Registration and Documents, a national card is provided for all Iranians inside and outside the country who belong to one of the official religions and religious minorities recognized in the constitution. In order to better support and provide services, the legislature needs to accurately identify individuals; such acts of the Baha’i sect are in clear conflict with this important issue and have serious criminal and legal [repercussions].
