The Honorable Head of the Islamic Revolutionary Committee of Mazandaran Province

I would respectfully inform you that the Baha’i community, based on its religious faith and belief, has always considered it to be its imminent obligation to be obedient to the government, and faithfully serve the country, nation, and fellow citizens. Since, on the days of 9-10 Dey 1357 [30-31 December 1978], an opportunist group caused tremendous loss by attacking, destroying, looting and committing arson against the Baha’is, and some people lost their homes and residences, [this community] has not been able to comply with the decree of the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Imam Khomeini, to fulfill its conscientious duty by offering cash donations towards the construction of houses for the disadvantaged.

Thus, the Baha’i community [now] donates a piece of 500 square metres of land, plot number 1/4283, for this purpose and puts it at the disposal of the Revolutionary Committee of Mazandaran. Hopefully, by contributing a drop to the endless sea of the contributions of our dear fellow citizens, we can take part in this exalted cause. By improving our financial position in the future, we will hopefully be able to donate more cash contributions to fulfill our humanitarian wishes.

On behalf of the Baha’i Community of Mazandaran,

Baghaollah  Legha, Abdollah Darvish
