At Least 7 Baha’is Were Arrested in Shiraz
HRANA News Agency – Saied Ettehad, Ghasem Masoumi, Siamak Honarvar, Soroush Abadi, Sedigheh Aghdasi and Aliyyeh Foroutan, Baha’i citizens living in Shiraz, were arrested by agents of the Intelligence Office on Tuesday night, 17 Farvardin [6 April], and transferred to one of the detention centres of the security institution in the city. During the arrests, officers searched the citizens homes and took some of their personal belongings with them. Last night, the intelligence agents in Shiraz arrested Behrouz Farzandi Ardakani, another Baha’i citizen.
During the arrests, officers searched the homes of the citizens and confiscated some of their personal belongings, such as books and electronic devices and took them away.
Taking into account these people, the number of Baha’i citizens detained in Shiraz last night has reached seven, however, the number of detainees is likely to be more than this number. This morning, HRANA had announced the arrest of Behrouz Farzandi Ardakani by security forces in Shiraz.
