The Trial of Kiana Shoaie, a Baha’i Citizen, Was Held
HRANA News Agency – This morning, 25 Ordibehesht [15 May], the trial of Kiana Shoaie, a Baha’i citizen living in Shiraz, was held in the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz. She was summoned to this branch on 15 Ordibehesht [5 May] in a notification.
According to the HRANA news agency, the news organ of the Iranian Association of Human Rights Activists, this morning, Saturday, 25 Ordibehesht 1400 [15 May 2021], the trial of Kiana Shoaie, a Baha’i citizen living in Shiraz, was held in Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz.
In this court session, Ms. Shoaie’s case was referred to the prosecutor's office to eliminate the shortcomings in the case and another hearing will be held after the shortcomings are eliminated.
Previously, on 15 Ordibehesht [5 May], Kiana Shoaie was summoned to Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz in a notification. In the notice, she was asked to report herself to this branch following an allegation of “formation of hostile groups with intent to disturb national security, membership in hostile groups with intent to disturb national security and propaganda against the regime.”
On 29 Mehr 1398 [21 October 2019], Ms. Shoaie was arrested by the agents of the Ministry of Intelligence and on 16 Aban of the same year [7 November 2019] she was released on bail pending trial from the detention center of the Shiraz Intelligence Office.
