The Fundamental Issue

Yesterday, Kayhan printed some news quoting Ayatollah Jannati, the temporary Friday prayer leader of Qom, in which several questions were posed about the anti-Bahaism Society. Kayhan regarded this matter as one of importance, since refining the impurities of the Imam’s Path guarantees the continuation of the Islamic Revolution. And since the questions propounded by Mr. Jannati were the same questions asked by the majority of the people, the issue was naturally set forth based on the level of its importance. But unfortunately, our brothers in Jomhouri Eslami Newspaper thought that discussing this issue in the present circumstances overlooked the fundamental issues of the society, and this is issue is not an essential one…

… In our opinion, these issues are not separable; as you also admit, the anti-Bahaism Society must declare its position regarding the Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist, so that the Imam’s Path will be completely refined from impure approaches. Because, in our opinion, if such impurities are not rejected and excluded by the society, the danger of which is no less than other deflective paths, there will be a threat of deviation for our Islamic movement which must become universal.
