Announcement by the Government Regarding Yesterday’s Incident in Shiraz

A group of people attacked a house in the city with intent to destroy it; a clash ensued as a result between them and the police, and a few people were injured.

Martial law has been enforced in Shiraz today since 9:00 a.m. and order has been restored.

The following announcement was published by the government spokesperson:

Yesterday, a group of people in Shiraz engaged in certain acts of disturbance which were immediately stopped by the law enforcement authorities, who imposed temporary martial law to prevent its spread.

The government is in full control of the situation and is investigating the cause of the incident so as to severely reprimand and punish the perpetrators.

Following this announcement, a reliable source stated today:

A group of residents of Shiraz were incited to attack a house in the city with intent to destroy it. Following a clash between them and the police, a few people were injured. Therefore, martial law was imposed to restore calm.

Announcement by the Fars Brigade 6

Our reporter in Shiraz has informed us that this announcement was issued today by the Fars Brigade 6 and was also publicly announced on Shiraz radio: “The respected people of Fars are hereby informed that based on the decision and announcement of the government, starting 9:00 a.m. today, martial law will be enforced in the City of Shiraz.  Commander of Fars Brigade 6, Brigadier Noveisi.”

According to our reporter the situation in the city is normal and calm, and those injured are being treated at the hospital.
