During the Celebration of the Promised Imam, Shiraz was turned into a sea of light.
Shiraz—Kayhan reporter—On the occasion of the blessed birth of “Valiyollah-Ul Aazam, Hojjat Ebn-Ul Hassan Al-Askari” (peace be upon Him), Shiraz was turned into a sea of illumination and light, and places of worship, mosques, squares, offices, and shops were decorated with lights. For the first time, the army and government employees held a magnificent and glorious celebration at the Vakil Mosque, in order to pay their respects to the Promised Mehdi and express their interdependence with their brothers in the trades. Each of the enclaves of this large mosque was assigned to one of the departments and was decorated in an attractive manner. The most interesting thing of all was that the celebration of the birth of the Promised Imam this year was held with special magnificence at the Haziratol-Quds (the [former] assembly [hall] of the Baha’is) by the soldiers of Mehdiyyih. Hojjatol-Islam Golsorkhi gave an extensive talk and the participants were given a warm reception. In addition, on this same occasion, Professor Mottahari, Dr. Ali Ghaemi, and Seyyed Hosien Sajjadi gave speeches that were well-received. Ali Danesh-Monfared, governor of the Fars Province, and Ayatollah Seyyed Abdul-Hosein Dastghaib also participated in the celebrations.
