Islamic Republic won't fold up under opponents' criticism

Tehran, Aug. 30 (IRNA) – The Islamic Republic is strong enough today that it can easily withstand and weather its opponents criticisms, said Prosecutor General Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Hussein Musavi Tabrizi in an exclusive interview with Keyhan daily Monday. …

He noted that some Bahais were spies and were punished and that Iran had evidence and documents attesting to their spying for foreign countries, and at times receiving aid and financial support from them. He said a recent plot by the Bahais was hoarding things needed by the people, such as automobile spare parts, etc.

He said the Islamic Republic of Iran does not recognize Bahaism, stressing that the Bahais are considered conspiratorial group by the officials of his office.

He emphasized that Iranian officials do not harass those Bahais who only practice their religion in seclusion without trying to proselyte others nor engage in securing aid and information for foreigners and were not involved in organizational work.
