Three Baha’is in Shiraz Prison have been arrested and imprisoned on charges of propaganda against the Islamic Republic.
Hojjatol-Islam Jaber Baneshi, the public and revolutionary prosecutor of Shiraz, said, “Unfortunately, some foreign media and the enemies of the regime have [labelled] these arrested people [as] ideological and religious, while these people were in close contact with illegal groups and they were propagandizing against the Islamic Republic.” He stated, “Three of these Baha’is, who are in Tehran, were forming illegal groups and deceiving people to propagandize against the regime, and they were identified and arrested.”
He added, “Propaganda against the government is not allowed in any country or military [organization].”
He added, “No other country has as much political and religious freedom as our country, but we do not allow anyone to abuse this space and propagandize against the Islamic Republic.”
Baneshi concluded, “Action against security is the red line of the state, and anyone who wants to cross this red line and take action against national security will be dealt with, no matter of what belief, religion or religious attitude” ...
