What Happened In Parliament This Week?

The Fire That Was Set By Reza Afshar at Baharestan!

Where Does Afshar’s Speech Come From?

What Will Be the Government’s Reaction to Opposition Front?

Awaiting Unexpected Events

The intense and behind-the-scenes activities we [predicted] to the dear readers a week ago, have appeared this week. However, we should know that, of all the excitement and uneasiness that goes on behind the scenes, merely a portion has been revealed. These efforts, which derive mostly from foreign policies, have caused seizures of the open sessions of the parliament and unexpected incidents…

Reza Afshar’s comment during the public session that they are playing with the sentiments of the marjai' taqlīd [religious jurisprudence authority], is an allusion to this matter. Moreover, Ayatollah Borujerdi has declared that he is unwell, and seemingly has not been present at the seminary to teach within the last few days. The scholars in Tehran and other cities, according to the instructions they have received, have begun coordinated action. In any case, parallel to the political activities, attention must also be paid to the endeavours in regard to the Baha’is. Anyhow, all these currents have made possible a radical transformation and change [that may occur] in the near future.
