Office of the Prime Minister

[Date:] 25 Ordibehesht 1320 [15 May 1941]

Number: 279

Honourable Minister of Justice, Ahvaz

According to a report that was received by His Majesty, the heads of the Department of Education in Ahvaz and Khorramabad are engaged in propagating the Baha’i Faith and have openly had activities and meetings and been making statements.  Given that this type of propaganda and activity, particularly on the part of government officials, is prohibited and [the perpetrators] are subject to serious prosecution, he [His Majesty] has ordered a thorough investigation into this matter and an immediate end to these activities.  Therefore, while you are travelling in those regions, under your own supervision, conduct the necessary interviews and report the results in order for them to be conveyed [to His Majesty].

[Side note with same handwriting:]  Yesterday, the order of His Majesty was issued and the joint staff of the Armed Forces was ordered to send the report to the Office of the Prime Minister.  Since, until now, they have not sent the report, the summary of the events was telegraphed; until the Minister of Justice is in Ahvaz, he may take action without any delay.
