Deviant Interpretation By the Baha’i Sect of the Verse “Guide Us along the Straight Path”[1]

Man is an evolving being, and the meaning of “Guide us along the Straight Path” is that God should guide us to the right path of evolution.

According to Jam News, Baha’i teachers object that Muslims recite, “Guide us along the Straight Path”, ten times a day in their prayers, which means [God] guide us to the right path, meaning we are not guided and seek guidance! This is an invitation to something that is beyond the invitation of Muhammad.

In response to this claim, it should be said that, first of all, man is an evolving being, and the meaning of “Guide us along the Straight Path” is that God should guide us to the right path of evolution.

Secondly, the Islamic commentators have interpreted “the Straight Path” to [mean]: 1. Book of God; 2. Surrender to the Will of God; 3. The religion of godliness and adherence to the commands of God. None of them have interpreted “the Straight Path” as an invitation to [worship someone] after-Muhammad (peace be upon Him). Here, Baha’i teachers have made unreasonable interpretations of divine revelations, an act that even the Baha’s sect’s leaders have strictly forbidden.
