The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran attentively greets you and has the honor of forwarding the following clarifications:

The accusations of the demolition of the Bahá' í cemetery in Tihrán evade the truth.

The fact is, part of an old cemetery, which (after 30 years) had legally gone over the preservation period, was included in the project of modernization and embellishment of the city which is being carried out by the Mayor's Office of Tihrán.

In the same way, Muslim cemeteries can also be affected. And, in general, new cemeteries are always preserved with more care.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran would like to add that it rejects all accusations attributed to the Islamic Republic of Iran concerning violation of the rights of the followers of the Bahá' í Faith and it remains at your service for more elucidations on the rights of minorities in Iran.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran takes this opportunity to renew its affirmations of high esteem and consideration.

In the hope of the victory of the oppressed over the oppressors
