Murdered in Bandar Abbas on 4thSeptember 1986
Iraj Mehdinejad’s father was a Baha’i and his mother was a Muslim. Later in his life, he became a Baha’i. After the commencement of the Islamic Revolution, he was dismissed from his job for his adherence to the Baha’i Faith.
On 4 September 1986, at approximately 8 pm, a number of men presented at Iraj Mehdinejad’s home and murdered him. His body was discovered by his son-in-law the next day. It showed evidence of knife stabbing; he had 17 stab wounds starting from his right temple to his waist. His throat was also cut from ear to ear, and his jaw and left temple were broken, as if hit by a blunt object. He was laid to rest in the Baha’i cemetery of Bandar Abbas.
