Confiscation of Properties of Famous Usurers of Tehran

Hojjatol-Islam Ghavami said that the files of five thousand usurers of Tehran are being evaluated at this court.  As of now, a large number of their properties have been confiscated and the usurers have been arrested; some were released on heavy bail and with trusted guarantors.  This group is barred from leaving the country.  He gave journalists the names of a few big usurers of Tehran, one being a Baha’i (Aminollah Amin Azam Lashgarloo) who owns 20 big real estate units in Tehran alone, which were all confiscated and are worth 500 million tumans.  …
