HRANA News Agency – For the second time in less than two weeks, unknown individuals threatened a Baha’i family in Tehran by writing slogans on their walls.

According to the HRANA News Agency, the news organ of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, on the morning of Friday, 16 Mordad [7 August], for the second time, unknown individuals wrote hateful slogans on the wall of the Aghdasi family, Baha’i residents in Sazman Barnameh Street in western Tehran.

Earlier, on 3 Mordad [25 July], people had caused them anxiety and concern by writing the word “death” on the wall of this family’s house, which was reported to the Police-110. Notes were taken [there] but the perpetrators have not yet been identified.

According to the Aghdasi family, except for the last two cases, they have not been disturbed during these years and have had good relations with their neighbours.

Writing threatening slogans against Baha’is in the cities is not a new issue, but no similar case has been reported in Tehran. [Propaganda] against the Baha’is is repeated in some official forums, on television and through the fatwas of some religious jurisprudential authorities, and the security forces and judiciary have not yet taken any specific action against this hate propaganda.
