Despite the fact that the atmosphere of the nation’s political activities appears to have calmed down, the politicians still express concern about the uncertain conditions for the future and believe that the travels by Entezam and his meetings in the United States are related to these same issues and behind-the-scenes activities, and that he has been given a mission by the shah to discuss certain important matters with the American government.
Meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament
The difference of opinion that had appeared with one of the influential clergymen has intensified these days and has led to the exchange of some messages.
It is said that, once again, Ayatollah Behbahani has given a message to Ayatollah Borujerdi and has mentioned that he will personally carry out the required actions to earn His Highness’ satisfaction. However, the mediation of Mr. Behbahani has not resulted in alleviation of the disaffection, and it was confirmed that Ayatollah Borujerdi, by attracting the attention of the speaker of the Parliament, who had gone to see him two weeks ago, has brought up some of the issues of the day, and along with complaining about why the plans for preventing the activities of the Baha’is have been suspended, has asked that the necessary actions be taken in this regard. It appears that Mr. Sardar Fakher has promised to bring up this matter with the government representatives at the first opportunity and take decisions that would be pleasing to the ayatollah.
