Revealing the Rise of Baha’ism in the Yemeni Capital Sanaa
A Yemeni expert warned that Baha’is have increased their activities in Sanaa and are seeking to establish a party themselves.
According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, Abdullah Abdul Majeed al-Zindani, a Yemeni professor and expert, announced on his Facebook page that the Baha’is have increased their activities in Sanaa, to the extent that there are personalities and organizations who support them until the next stage of their activities becomes public.
He added, “This process started on 14 November 2015, when the Baha’is held a ceremony in Sanaa and invited a number of elites, and this was the first ceremony in which the Baha’is publicly declared their identity in Yemen.”
On his Facebook page, Al-Zindani referred to a group in Sanaa called the “Peace-Supporting Secularists”, run by a group of Baha’is and Ismailis. He said, “They seek to establish a party in line with their beliefs and to introduce Baha’ism as a new, heavenly religion [very different] from the violent Islam, terrorism, ISIS, and religious strife.”
He added, “They publish books and magazines and hold various conferences to achieve their goals.”
