The Protest of the European Parliament

Strasbourg: The European Parliament unanimously condemned the executions, repression and application of systematic pressure by Khomeini’s regime on the religious and ethnic minorities in Iran…

The European Parliament condemned the situation of the Baha’is in Iran. Mr. Claude du Jardin, the Belgian Socialist journalist, reported regarding the Baha’is in Iran and compared their situation to the fate of the Jews in Nazi Germany.  As the Nazis tried with the Jews, he said the Iranian regime is aiming for the “final solution”, the complete genocide of the Baha’is in Iran.

The European Parliament unanimously adopted a resolution asking the leaders in Tehran to extend the provisions set in Iran’s Constitution for religious, ethnic, and philosophical minorities to the Baha’is as well.

Being aware of its limitations, the European Parliament requested its member states to cooperate with the United Nations and the European Community in taking proper steps to force the Tehran regime to observe human rights.
