[Date:] Wednesday, 17 Farvardin 1362 [6 April 1983]
[Issue No.:] 16980
To begin with, Brother Gharazi, the minister of oil …announced, “The brothers [who are] members of the Human Resources and Reconstruction Committees have only dismissed [cleaned up] 1,600 people out of 85,000 personnel in the Ministry of Oil.” Then he reported the number of personnel that have been dismissed [cleaned up]. After that, Ayatollah Mousavi Ardabili, referring to the figures cited by the minister of oil, stated, “You brothers have tried to reconstruct this economic centre of the country. Keep on doing this delicate and wonderful job. First, do a diligent reconstruction work. The second issue is to provide people with satisfaction. You brothers, who are commissioned to reconstruct like health professionals, your restoration of the health of the community should be combined with peoples’ satisfaction and happiness. See how satisfied people are with what you have done.”
The head of the country’s Supreme Court also added, “About 130,000 letters have been received at the headquarters for the pursuit of the decree of Imam Khomeini’s Eight Articles and the majority of the complaints are about the reconstruction affairs and the selection across the country.”
My intention in announcing this is to emphasize the importance of your job, which is approved by all and should be continued. If one day your work gets terminated in some organizations, the reconstruction of education, the judiciary, the army and armed forces, the oil ministry and the like, should be continued and be implemented precisely in accordance with the relevant laws…
…. At the end, the number of those who have been dismissed [cleaned up] at the oil ministry for various reasons, was announced….
