In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The Honourable Supreme Judiciary Council

Islamic revolutionary prosecutor [illegible]

Reports have recently been received that irresponsible people and possibly some authorities from deviant groups—contrary to the Islamic and legal provisions—have seized, confiscated and divided the properties of some respected people, and sometimes they enter people’s homes and arrest them without any religious and legal permission, and if unable to find the intended person, they arrest their relatives, wives or children. Occasionally, under some excuse, they violate the dignity and honour of these individuals. They offend the Islamic Republic and the Judiciary by committing these unlawful acts.

Please order that the National Inspection Organization of Iran take quick action and report their investigations to the judicial authorities, summon the parties or those who have committed such unlawful acts, and following the proof of their crime, punish them.

Please inform me of the results of the mentioned matters.

Ruhollah al-Mousavi al-Khomeini

This is the exact handwriting of the Imam Ummah [Ayatollah Khomeini] that had been communicated to the Supreme Judicial Council and the Prosecutor General of the Islamic Revolution.

[Notes on the margin of the letter are in the same handwriting]

Should the prosecutors receive any more complaints, they must act quickly.
