War in the Town of Sa‘di
Shiraz – 23/9/1357 [14 December 1978] – In an attack on the homes of members of an unofficial religious minority in the township of Sa‘di, [people] from both sides were killed or wounded.
The members of this religious minority opened fire on Muslim youths killing or wounding about 100 of them. At least 10 are said to have been killed, two of whom were soldiers. At midnight, a large group of people attacked homes in this township, and the members of the unofficial [religious] minority fled to the nearby mountains with their weapons. As a result about 50 of their homes and shops were torched.
