About the Incident in a Village in Yazd

A telegram has reached this office, signed by a number of Yazd residents, about the murder incident that took place in Yazd’s dependencies, the news of which was published in our issue of 6 Dey [26 December] in which they have written:

“The news published in the issue of 6 Dey [26 December] was an exaggeration, and it ignored the unexpected arrest of 43 innocent Muslim men and women, which was contrary to expectations. The generality of the Muslim people of Yazd believe that the accused are innocent and are being prosecuted without [proof], and they demand that the competent authorities conduct an in-depth investigation and provide the means for their freedom and acquittal.
