From Our Parliamentary Reporter,

Two authorities…

Yesterday, two of the so-called mediators, Mr. Seyyed Jafar Behbahani and Mr. Reza Afshar, presented some explanations about Sunday’s tension. It should be mentioned that concern about the situation for those who are aware of the incident is quite justified, as Mr. Behbahani clearly said that Mr. Afshar had insulted two important and sacred authorities of ours, the authority of clerics and the authority of the monarchy. At the beginning of the Assembly, we have sworn to protect these two authorities. I will not allow such topics to be mentioned at the [meeting] of the National Consultative Assembly.

Mr. Reza Afshar not only seemed to believe in and be certain about what he had said, but he also added some other matters, indicating that this topic has a long way to go. This group forms the two central opposition groups against Mr. Ala’ that seem to have other plans.

Mr. Afshar believes that campaigning against the Baha’is will damage our reputation in the world and will introduce us as covenant breakers in a civilised world!
