[Newspaper:] Danesh-e Emrouz

[Date:] 19 Ordibehesht 1334 [10 May 1955]

[Issue No:] 122

Members of the Bread-maker’s Guild are grateful to His Majesty’s favour for the closure of the corrupt nest of the Baha’i sect, and also beseech the Almighty God for the success of the renowned preacher, Mr. Falsafi.

Every single member of the Bread-maker’s Guild offers their endless gratitude to the blessed presence of their just, Muslim king, His Royal Majesty, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, for the special favour of ordering the closure of the propaganda cell of the perverse Baha’i sect. As per the petition which is being signed by the Bread-maker’s Guild, twenty-five thousand members of the Bread-maker’s Guild request His Majesty and the esteemed members of the government and representatives of both parliamentary houses to declare the perverse Baha’i sect illegal in a single article. They also request the renowned and learned preacher, Mr. Haj Sheikh Mohammad Taghi Falsafi, to accept the gratitude of tens of thousands of members and workers of the Bread-maker’s Guild.

Although the complete nature of the issue is not revealed, and the pulpit statements are not capable of disclosing more than this, it is only the seriousness of the government that can gradually discover the harmful networks and save the government from damage, as it has succeeded [in doing] in similar cases. I think the nation’s wise men believe that the damage of this party to the independence of the country is, by far, more severe—because there is a difference between the enemy who asserts animosity and the enemy who pretends to be a friend. Also, there is a difference between the enemy who attacks a solid fort without having the destruction tools in hand, and the enemy who starts demolition with proper tools.

In closing, I note that this wretched party has penetrated many layers of the government. The letters and telegrams that I receive from cities clearly confirm this. For example, it is observed that in the middle of the night, a mob invaded a poor and destitute old woman’s home with her five innocent minor children who were sleeping on the floor, and brutally cut them to pieces with picks and spades. And only through the insistence of a Muslim and disclosure of some information, was one person hanged, and the rest were left to be.

This is proof that this sect has complete influence in the government. Therefore, the most important task is to purge the government offices and ministries and sensitive positions of this sect. I beseech the Almighty God to strengthen the holy religion of Islam, the sacred Jafari sect, and to confirm the groups who endeavour to propagate the religion.

Telegrams of Ayatollah Behbahani

To His Majesty’s Presence and to His Holiness Ayatollah Borujerdi, on the Occasion of the Occupation of the Hazirat’ul-Quds

On the occasion of the occupation of the Hazirat’u-Quds, the Baha’i assembly [location], and the prevention of propagation of the Baha’i sect, His Holiness Ayatollah Behbahani sent congratulatory telegrams to His Royal Majesty and to His Holiness Ayatollah Borujerdi. The texts of the two telegrams are printed here for the information of our readers:

To the blessed presence of His Royal Majesty

I offer my sincere prayers and wholehearted gratitude at this time, for his auspicious person, who has performed this God-worshiping action, and according to my and the Muslim nation’s longstanding desire, ordered the closure of a religious and national corruption cell, and occupation of that ominous precinct by the Islamic army. And since, in the opinion of this well-wisher, this is considered a religious festival, I congratulate you and am certain the blessed heart of His Holiness, the Imam of the Time—may our souls be sacrificed for Him—is delighted, and He will pay special attention to His Majesty at this time.

In closing, I beseech the Almighty for continued success and blessings for His Royal Person and for the protection of the holy religion of Islam, and sacred Islamic laws, and for eradication and suppression of anything [that is] against the religion.

Mohammad Al-Musa Al-Behbahani [May he be forgiven]

To the blessed presence of his holiness Hojjatol-Islam and Muslims, the Grand Ayatollah Mr. Borujerdi, may God continue his blessings

Sincerely, since I am certain your blessed mind is delighted by this God-worshipping action of His Majesty in the closure and occupation of the ominous precincts of Baha’is, and in my opinion, this is considered a festival of religious festivals, I congratulate you and hope His Majesty will always succeed in such royal actions under the attentions of your holiness, the Ayatollah.
