Press conference of the Sharia judge and the prosecutor of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Tehran.

The chief justice of the Islamic Revolutionary Courts, Ayatollah Mohammadi Gilani, and the public prosecutor of the Central Islamic Revolution, Seyyed Asadullah Lajevardi, during a press conference yesterday afternoon at the location of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of the Centre (Evin), responded to the questions of internal and external reporters regarding challenges of the revolutionary courts, the recent executions of the heads of the perverse Baha’i sect, and criteria for releasing the prisoners of the revolutionary prisons. ...

Then the Sharia judge of the Central Islamic Revolutionary Court spoke about the criteria for freeing those remorseful followers who have not had a significant influence on the destructive and terrorist activities. He said, “In the Islamic Revolutionary Courts the accused are not tried because of being active followers of their belief, but they are being tried because of their actions, and the members of this little group—low or high—including members of their administrative body, as long as they have not committed any crime, are, no doubt, entitled to freedom from the Islamic point of view, and will be freed, provided they admit to the wrongdoings of the past.

Then, in regard to the exaggerations that foreign media have made to publicize the execution of members of the National Spiritual Assembly, Mohammadi Gilani said, “It has been clear that [members of] this group or sect are spying for colonizing organizations, and the damages that this perverse sect has inflicted to the country...Allah Akbar.

“These allies and spies of colonization generally, and Zionism especially, have confronted the Islamic Sharia system in our country for years, and since the revolution have also been fighting with the Islamic Revolution.

“It is incumbent upon the courts and the Sharia judges to punish these individuals. Of course, not only have the members of this perverse sect been political spies, but also, second to the accursed Pahlavi family, they have been the largest group to loot the assets of this country. These individuals who were executed have been proven in the Islamic Sharia courts to have been spying in favour of Israel and its allies, and were punished according to the laws of the Quran.”

He added there were some among this sect that are mentally weak, and [asked the] court to kindly explain to them and let them go back to their lives, because they are ignorant and do not comprehend the spying aspect of it.
