Screening of a Film in Support of Baha’ism in Paris
According to Cinema Press, the screening of these films started on 6 December.
“Layla”, by Dariush Mehrjouyi, starring Leila Hatami and Ali Mosaffa, is being shown in a cinema that has four screenings every day. Mehrjouyi’s brilliant film had 20 viewers in its first screening on Wednesday.
The second film, “Lerd” or with the French name, “A Man of Integrity”, is being screened in eight theatres and has four transmissions every day. The film was made by Mohammad Rasoulof with the support of the Baha’is and shows an anti-Iranian image. “Lerd” had 260 viewers in its first day’s screening. Interestingly, the distributor of this film has produced a lot of publicity on the person of Mohammad Rasoulof, and in the media, there is more talk about the filmmaker than the film itself!
Simultaneously with the screening of the two films, a French film called “Santa and Cie” starring Golshifteh Farahani, has been released in 27 cinemas in Paris and has topped the sales charts. The film drew 1,704 viewers in its first screening last Wednesday.
