Enclosure: -----

In the Name of God,

Office of the Deputy for Administration and Finance,

As you are aware, based on instruction number 7560 – 10 Dey 1359 [31 December 1980] of the Minister [of Health], it has been ordered to end the employment of all individuals who are followers of the perverse Baha’i sect by 1 Bahman 1359 [21 January 1981] in all divisions of the Ministry of Health. In the last clause of the instruction for calculating their long service entitlements [it is stated that] it should be postponed [until receipt of] future instructions from the relevant ministry.  In relation to this point, the regional health organizations in provinces have sought instruction concerning the receipt of multiple complaints from individuals of this type regarding their redundancy entitlement for their years of service and the reclamation of their retirement deductions, which they paid while employed with the government.

In relation to this matter, it appears from the enclosed letter number 1/14806 – 12 Aban 1360 [3 November 1981] of the regional health organization of Semnan Province and a photocopy of [the response] number 5301K/2 – 15 Mehr 1360 [7 October 1981] from the office of Grand Ayatollah Khomeini to a request for a fatwa[1] [regarding] the Bimeh-e Iran Company, which contains the views that no money is payable to this type of person.

For your information, and in order to obtain instructions, we [respectfully] submit that in light of the aforementioned views, and if you are in agreement, this instruction should be forwarded, in any way you see fit, to all regional health organizations in all provinces and affiliated units in order to be actioned accordingly.  Also, a large number of these people have filed complaints with the judiciary, and we are waiting for the courts’ judgment.

Hashem Askari

With respect, Director of Personnel
