With utmost respect, we inform you of the following.  The hearts of the Baha’is of the world and the Baha’is of Kerman are severely broken, the eyes are crying and the hearts are burning after the attack and destruction of the blessed House of the Bab, which is one of the holiest places in Iran for the Baha’i international community.  This community considers this unfortunate incident, under the government of a regime that has announced its plans to establish sacred Islamic justice, as a truly astonishing and regrettable event, particularly because this injustice has been inflicted upon a community that is the servant of the sacred country of Iran, believes in the sacred religion of Islam, and seeks to promote social justice for all of humanity.  This community’s request is that you issue orders, as soon as possible, for the sake of divine justice and alleviating the worries of the Baha’is of the world, who live in more than 96,000 [sic] localities across the globe, to prevent the continued destruction of this respected building, return it to the Baha’i community, and prosecute the perpetrators and those responsible for this action.

The Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Kerman
