To the esteemed Supreme Revolutionary Council

Despite the fact that we had expressed in previous telegrams and letters of appeal that the House of the Báb, located in Shamshirgarha Lane in Shiraz, belongs not only to the Baha’i community of Iran, but is also considered holy by people from all countries, tribes, and races in more than 102,000 localities in the world; and also that the destruction of this House not only brings serious injury to the hearts of the followers in this community, which lives under the protection of the Islamic government, but it also is a cause of great sadness and conducive to negative effects in all countries of the world, unfortunately, on this Holy Day, which is the Day of the Covenant of His Highness [Mohammad], praised be His Name, with the Chosen One—Ali—praise be upon Him, a group led by a few members of the clergy has, once again, attacked this half-destroyed House [of the Báb], has started to destroy its foundations, and is also destroying the adjacent homes. As the largest religious minority of this country, which deserves to witness the fruits of Islamic justice, we once again extend the hand of appeal to your high station, beseeching you to take swift action to alleviate this great injustice, which represents an insult to religion and spirituality.  We urgently request your serious attention to this appeal for justice.

From the Baha’i community of Iran
