Arrest of A Baha’i Citizen in Yazd

Ostan Wire – Ministry of Intelligence agents in Yazd arrested a Baha’i citizen, named Amin Zolfaghari, at his place of business.

After arresting Mr. Zolfaghari, on Thursday, 1 Khordad 1399 [21 May 2020], the agents went to this Baha’i citizen’s home and after searching his home confiscated mobile phones, computers, books, and religious photographs.

A relative told Ostan Wire, “After the passing of five days, which coincided with the holidays, on Tuesday, 6 Khordad [26 May 2020], the Zolfaghari family was informed that agents had transferred Amin to the temporary incommunicado section of Yazd Prison.”

Mr. Zolfaghari is said to have been arrested on charges of “propaganda for the Baha’i Faith”.

Also on this day, Yazd intelligence agents visited the home of a Baha’i citizen named Mitra Bandi Baghi and searched her home and confiscated some of her personal and religious belongings.
