[Date:] 27 Aban 1336 [18 November 1957]
[Issue No.:] 222
In issue number 714 of Azarin Newspaper, dated 25 Mehr [17 October], our reporter from Rudsar wrote us an account regarding the rumours that Mr. Ahmad Afshari, the president of Rudsar’s Post and Telegraph, is a Baha’i, which was fully printed.
Mr. Afshari now writes to us: “First of all, my many years of service in the Ministry of Post and Telegraph and the reputation of my family members, who have all spent lifetimes in this ministry, are in themselves the best witness to my being a Muslim. I am proud of being a Twelver Imam Shiite; I believe in all my national sacred principles, and I will never deviate to the smallest measure from my religious beliefs.”
Azarin: We are pleased by the explicit statement of Mr. Afshari, and all rumours spread about him are hereby disregarded.
