Forty-three people who are accused in the murder and massacre case in Sakhvid of Yazd were summoned to Branch 1 of the Supreme Criminal Court of Tehran to appoint their defence lawyers today.

In the previous issues, we informed the readers of the details of the murder in Sakhvid, Yazd, and mentioned that the defendants in this case are forty-five people who were sent to the centre [capital], and the case on behalf of the provincial magistrate was referred for investigation to Branch 1of the Criminal Court.

Today, our correspondent was informed that forty-three of the above defendants were summoned from the detention centre of the Palace of Justice to Branch 1 to appoint their defence lawyers. One of the judges of Branch 1 told our correspondent, “Today, some of these accused appointed their defence lawyers, and in one or two days all the defendants have to present their lawyers.”

After appointing the lawyers, the study of the case will begin and the date of the start of their trial will be announced.
