Tabriz

Mr. Haj Mirza Javad Aqa Sultanol- Qura, who previously used to conduct the congregational prayers at the Mosque of Mo‘jez Lor, currently conducts the prayers at the Mosque of Haj Safar-Ali, situated in the bazaar [market]. The inauguration of the Clinic Number 6 on Monajjem Street by the Department of Health brought extreme joy to the residents.

The sessions for learning the interpretation of the Quran are taking place every evening; in addition to the intonation and recital of the Quran, the study of Nahj al-Balagha and jurisprudence also takes place.

Hojjatol-Eslam Haj Mir Kazem Aqa Tabatabaei, God’s mercy be upon him, passed away on Wednesday the fourth of Ramadan.

Mr. Hayegh Shah-Nazarian, the representative of the Biblical Publishing Institute, who had travelled to Rezaieh [Urmia] and Shahpour, has returned (our heart and sights are illumined).

The meetings for commentary [on the Quran], organized by Mr. Haj Mirza Yousof, are continuously taking place. And all the restaurants, coffee shops and bottle stores have been closed by order of government and the religious rituals are respected and observed by the commander of the military brigades. The famous speaker of Tabriz, Mr. Mirza Hasan Naserzadeh, is busy propagating an anti-Baha’i book, compiled by Haj Mirza Yousef Sho’ar and written by Jafar Sho’ar, [which is] soon to be published.

A couple of the religious people and residents of Tabriz have submitted a letter to Ayatollah Hojjat, requesting his excellency to send to the mosque Mr. Khalkhali, who is trusted and respected by the public, for the exaltation of the words of God and protection of the religious rites.

Parcham-e Eslam:

The petition of the people of Tabriz is very appropriate and timely. Mr Hojjatol-Eslam Khakkhali is one of the open-minded and active clergy, and we hope that his holiness Ayatollah Hojjat will take swift action for this important task.
